Forest Service Information: The Forest Service provides updates on trail conditions. Jefferson Wilderness is actually covered by three districts, Willamette, Deschutes and Mt Hood. The link to the Willamette Conditions page is: http://www.fs.fed.us/r6/willamette/general/conditions/index.html. The actual trail conditions information is somewhat limited, but it is a good idea to check about fire or road information prior to taking off.
September 2008: I made a post based on my hike around Three Finger Jack. Basically the main trails where in good shape with a few wind falls. A couple of the less used trails where more challenging with significant wind falls and obsured trails. My post provides more specific information: http://oregonhiker.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post.php?action=edit&post=248.
August 2008: I got a trail report about trails in the Mt Jefferson area that reported alot of wind downs and difficult conditions. The URL for the report is: http://camera47.wordpress.com/2008/08/15/mt-jefferson-wilderness-oregon/
